COLORADO’S ELUSIVE INGREDIENT

Colorado’s Elusive Ingredient (CEI) is the largest and longest-running shadow cast in Colorado.  We have been performing shows as CEI since 2000 with roots running back to the first shadow cast in Colorado.  This historic cast has performed all across Colorado with venues ranging from The Historic Theatre in Estes Park to the Ellie Caulkins Opera House in Denver.  We hold the record for most seats sold for any shadow cast ever for our Red Rocks performance in 2013.  CEI has been and continues to be a staple of the Colorado cult film community.

The modern cast performs at least monthly with increased booking through June (Pride month) and October.  We see ourselves frequently at the Studio Loft and have yearly October shows at the Pace Center and Boulder Theatre. We are open to venues of all scopes and sizes, and we value being a flexible cast who can adapt to venues that seat anywhere from 100 to 10,000!

Our cast exists as a supportive and safe space for the weirdos, outcasts, queers, grown up theater kids, and all who love Rocky. We work to nurture our community and be a free space of open creativity and expression through performance.  We enjoy being a cast as diverse as Denver itself and are always open to hearing from people interested in joining or supporting our cause!
